Good value for money option. Clean and comfortable
It's an older building that looks like it's been recently refurbished for a colourful modern look.
The location is great if you want to walk to the Victoria markets area.
Downside was the aircon was noticeable noisewise, the TV stations weren't clear, and the shower head was stiff so you get blasted when it first goes on as it points straight at the entry, and doesn't seal properly so it sprays through the gap in the wall and the door, getting things wet outside. Didn't get to the gym - it's in another building, and the parking was across the road. The Jasper kitchen was a tad slow in the morning for breakfast as it gets quite busy.
Despite this it still represented good value for money with the hotel club special- 12-Jul-2008 Jasper Hotel Melbourne
The location of hotel is excellent, near to QVM & Melbourne Central. Clean & nice room. Very friendly & helpful staff. The only set back is that facilities like the swimming pool & gym, etc. is not within the hotel.- 23-May-2008 Car Parking is not onsite in a public carpark that is home to some rough looking characters. It was a worry leaving your car there.
After returning from breakfast at about 9:55am, by the time we caught the lift to our room to get our luggage to check out, the key card to our room was cancelled so we couldn't get our luggage from the room.
When I booked online, I also rang the hotel to get their suggestion on which room would best accommodate me, my husband and two small children. They indicated to book a standard room and they would arrange a cot and a fold away bed for me on arrival. When I arrived I was booked into a room too small to accommodate a bed, fold away bed and a cot. Hence my two year old had to sleep with us. On the second night I asked for some bedding - doona and sheets - so we could make a make-shift bed for her on the floor. They said they could only spare two sheets. - 30-Apr-2007 |
