 The hotel is very well located but more than 10 years neglect show, also the daily cleaning of the room would do well with some more commitment. It was a very nice hotel in 1992, today it urgently need attention to regain the possition as one of the major hotels in Chiang Mai. - 28-Aug-2008 My first time staying at the hotel but if I return it will definitely be the same and I have already recommended to my friends.
Thanks.- 07-Jan-2008 Imperial Mae Ping is impressive and the location is fantastic, right next to the night markets which is great as Chiang Mai is dead during the day.
When checking in the staff told my boyfriend and I we had two single beds! We had booked a double bed and after checking the computer she tried to offer to change us after one night. We refused & were told to wait in the hotel bar while it was sorted out. We were finally given a room with a King bed so obviously they were reluctant to give the larger beds to those who hadn't paid full price. A bit of a disapointing start to our stay but they redeemed themselves with a buffet breakfast that had freshly cooked eggs (right in front of you) and real bacon!
We were disapointed that there was no heated spa - it's cold!
For the price I guess it is ok but if you have activities in the daytime (and won't use the pool or day spa) you won't really see the value of money as there is a lot of much cheaper hotels in Chiang Mai. - 06-Dec-2007 |
