Books reported that the Ibis would be in the $80-$100 range...however, the cheapest that I was able to book at was $200/night, including breakfast. When you enter the lobby, the hotel looks ultra modern and contemporary. However, the room is quick to disappoint given its size -- the room, bathroom, closet, etc were very small by American standards (but probably right on par for Asia). No outlets near vanity or in bathroom for hair dryer so I ended up sitting by the window desk with no mirrow to work with. We requested a non-smoking room but every so often, smoke from adjacent rooms would flow into our room (through ducts?). Nice choice of food items for breakfast however it gets tiring after a few days of eating the same thing. Overall, if you're not interested in spending $$$ for one of the luxury Dubai properties, the Ibis will do just fine, especially if you can book for under $100/night.- 20-Feb-2008 |
