Rooms cramped, nowhere to store clothing, bathroom good.Handicapped parking at front usually full of vehicles without handicapped passes. Excellent staff let down by inferior premises.- 06-Jan-2009 Rooms very small and noisy (next to train tracks). Staff pleasent breakfast not good value.- 02-May-2008 I always have to go to Newcastle on business. I normally stay there 1-3 days. The best value for money is the Ibis( I have stayed at other hotels, but they were more expensive) The Ibis is in an unpleasant area, but since I go out in the morning to work and come back by 6 , it's alright. There are free buses for the city area , which are right in front of the hotel from 8:00-18:00.The Newcastle train station( middle of the city) is about 5 bus stops ahead ( 5-10 minutes). Civic station is closer. When there is a late meeting or dinner I get a taxi (around 7 dollars). Breakfast is delicious ( around 15 dollars) .The ceasar salad or pasta are a good choice for dinner , I didn't like the steak sandwiche.Staff are really friendly.
I recommend this hotel- 28-Feb-2008 |
