 Second time I book for a trip to Penang with [your website] and always good: you get what you pay for! (As I am also operating a dot com company in Thailand, it is a excellent feedback for online customers). As I am a very demanding, and a lazy traveler I can say that the Equatorial is a good hotel, with a great pool and very efficent staff: from laundry to room service, from operator to coffee shop and so on. Location 10 min from airport, position hillside hotel with Deluxe Room overlooking the golf course and the pool, with a big terrace offering a great view. (Ps. I got upgraded from a Superior Room which I book into). The hotel has excellent Fitness Center, also with Male/Female & steam/sauna separate bath with Jacuzzi etc. A business center with internet is there (and free)if you are traveling on business, as I was. The hotel is very near the airport and convenient for a night or two, but too far away from George Town to make it a good base for a long stay in Penang.- 07-Sep-2005 Internet and phone pricing at the Equatorial is expensive for the area.
Suggest going to a cellphone/electronics store at the Bakit Jambul shopping center (take a cab or the hotel shuttle). You can buy a "Chatz" phone card to call the US for 0.33 MYR/minute (about 9 cents/min in USD).- 07-Sep-2005 |
