Located near Singapore's museum belt, the Hotel 81 Bencoolen is best suited for the artistically inclined traveller with a wide selection of historical and cultural sites in the vicinity. You can catch performances by local and international acts at the Esplanade and Theatres on the Bay, which is located a mere 10-15 minutes away on foot.

Hotel 81 Bencoolen features 215 comfortable guestrooms that are well equipped with numerous amenities including a coffee maker, telephone and en suite bathroom. Specially adapted rooms are also available for the guests with physical disabilities.
Restaurant
Guests can dine at the on site restaurant that serves a variety of delicacies. You can also relax at the cafe with some light snacks and beverages.
General
A well-equipped business centre is also available for guests to organise various events.
 There was a lot of noise made by the cleaners. The cleaning of rooms continued even until midnight which was quite unusal to me causing a lot of noise by the cleaners with their trollies hiting the doors & walls.
My family were not able to contact me on the hotel numbers as nobody at the reception was picking up the phones despite the fact that nearly 8 staff were behind the desks. I personally tried the switchboard while nobody picked up the phones.
The only beneift was that the hotel was close to a lot of amneties.
The room was too small & inconvenient. I do not recommend this hotel unless one is only looking for a budget hotel no matter how poor the service is.- 08-Mar-2008 The staff were friendly and helpful and the location was convenient. However the hotel is badly in need of modernisation and is not at all clean. This is really shocking when compared to the rest of Singapore, which is immaculate. I would not recommend staying here.- 04-Feb-2008 I had to wake up very earlier in the morning even I didn't want because the curtain was very bad. The sunrise could shine through my room. Even I told the hotel staff to fix it. But there was nothing. I have to use my towel to cover windows
And it was also unhappy that the hotel didn't have coupon for breakfast. I paid more than 3,000 baht per night but no breakfast. - 06-Dec-2007 |
