 The staff and management at the GOH were courteous. The hotel was old but had all the required facilities. The buffet breakfast was excellent. Found the hotel a bit isolated and due to the high security zone, it took longer to return to the hotel at night. However, it was safe. I would recommend this hotel to those on a business trip.- 22-Jan-2008 The location is excellent to walk to Fort Station. And the view from the restaurant is very beatuful especially sunset time.- 06-Jun-2007 I chose to stay in the Grand Oriental Hotel because of the associations it had with my great grandparents. The staff listened carefully to my story and took the time to take my daughter and I on a conducted tour. I found the food to be varied and well presented and the view from the restaurant at night was magical. Although there was heavy security outside the hotel because of its proximity to the harbour, I found the people to be courteous and helpful. If I go back to Colombo (which I hope to do) I will stay at the GOH again.- 28-Mar-2007 |
