 This is a very suburban hotel that thinks it is 3.5 stars and it isn't. Located in Randwick its only advantage is its proximity to the racecourse (but on the wrong side for easy access). The facilities are poor - our balcony door would not lock, the shower screen was grubby, the bathroom window and toilet cistern cracked, the corridor noise intrusive... get the idea?
In addition - since booking the hotel and paying extra for breakfast the management has decided to include breakfast in the tariff which meant we were charged $30 more than if we had booked it last week (but I didn't realise this till we came home). To say we feel ripped off is an understatement!
We won't be going back.- 24-Aug-2008 The Gemini is a great location for starting on an overseas trip. Close enough to the airport, the shuttle service reduces the stress of departure by ensuring arrival at the International Terminal in plenty of time. The staff including the driver are always cheerful and helpful, and the refurbishments ensure the hotel remains clean and up-to-date without being over the top.- 21-Jul-2008 The room was clean and comfortable but fixtures such as light fittings etc were showing their age and the radio didn't work. The sliding door onto the balcony was difficult to close. Our room was on the top floor and the ceiling leaked in the bathroom when it rained. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel was very conveniently located with a wide choice of cafes and restaurants nearby.- 14-Mar-2008 |
