The hotel and location was superb, the only downside was the food. The restaurant menu is very limited, and expensive for the quality of food you recieve- 05-Mar-2008 El Guerra hotel is located in the Sierra Nevada near Granada and the Alhambra. It is at the mountainroad between Granada and the Sierra Nevada. When using a GPS you can find the right road but it has no number so you have to drive the road for several km's untill you arrive there. A better direction would be helpful.
The hotel is basic but nice. Rooms are specious but can be very warm in summer. Outside pool is large and clean.
One advice: learn to speak Spanish befor you arrive here while the staff hardly talks anything else. This can be difficult- 17-Aug-2007 The hotel was in a good location for my requirements and the bedrooms were very clean and well maintained. I was not happy with the facilities available to me when I returned from a hard days skiing, what I wanted as a tired pensioner, was a comfortable lounge where I could sit and read and enjoy a drink, the one that was available had some comfortable chairs and a nice fire, but was in essence a games room for children. Similarly there were no chairs in the bedroom, which could have accomodated a small armchair, and would have made all the difference. As my Spanish (and French) are limited, a better standard of English by the staff would be appreciated, some had none at all in the restaurant area. Having said all that I would seriously consider returning to the El Guerra if I go to the area to ski again. .- 05-Mar-2007 |
