A beautiful Hotel with a very German feel to it in a most beautiful location. The Staff were great and we were well looked after.
But note that this is not a five star hotel as we would expect nowadays- 30-Aug-2007 A superb hotel with very friendly staff and outstanding views of the Gap of Dunloe and local sceneary.- 01-Aug-2007 We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights, the location is so beautiful and the hotel gardens are amazing. We had a really nice time but there was a couple of things that we found disappointing for a 5 star hotel. It's a quite hotel and very relaxing. No double beds as we know them, continental doubles as it is a German owned Hotel which is two twin beds pushed together. Also the garden cafe was not a five star experience. Food lovers beware, the food was average to say the least, we ate here on our first night and that was it. I ordered a steak with mushrooms and onion rings, the steak arrived with 3 of those nasty cheap perfectly round frozen onion rings and frozen chips, really sad as i wouldn't even have them in my own freezer. We didn't eat in the main restaurant so can't comment. It is a lovely hotel and it's location is the main star, the good points definately out weighed the niggly little points mentioned above (however for a 5 star you expect the best) - 12-Jul-2007 |
