A top class hotel and I enjoyed my stay there. It is next to the The China Hotel (Marriot) and in some ways lies in its shadow. However the Dong Fang is an excellent hotel in its own right and is convenientely situated to the Guangzhou Metro.
A couple of things to be aware of. The in-room internet is VERY expensive given the pricing poliy and is best avoided. Also the lobby has a minimal amount of seating which is unfortunate when meeting people in the lobby.- 13-Sep-2009 Upon registration you will probably be asked if you want to "upgrade" to the executive floor. I did though I am unsure of how much benefit this was. The rooms were very clean, well maintained, spacious and the executive floor had breakfast (OK but not brilliant), its own receptionist and free internet access. How this compares with the standard accommodation I don't know and you may not consider the additional £20 or so not very good value.
I would recommend a stay at this efficient and pleasant hotel though you may want to upgrade if the standard accomodation doesn't meet expectations.- 18-Dec-2006 |
