 Dominican Bay is a lovers delight, Very romantic with great accomendations. Once you step outside you are in one of the poorest areas, everywhere you go outside you must concern yourself with beggers and peddelers and your saftey. Dominican bay has a private beach section with no water you must pass on to the public beach to enjoy the beautiful beach. Boca Chica is isolated from the rest of the islands point of interest. It can get very expensive to taxi yourself to other points of interest.
The hotel has endless activities and tour packages you can purchase and enjoy. But again the resort is isolated from the islands main attractions.
My recommendation: If you are going on a lovers retreat or just want to get away then this is your place. If your looking for a taste of the island then Santo Domingo or Puerto Plata is better. If your looking for a tourist attraction then Punta Cana is your place.
Leave the Dominican Bay to the Lovers and romantic at heart.
- 25-Apr-2008 The hotel manager is extremely unpolite. There was a problem with parking and they wanted that we left our new SUV on the street, with no security person watching it. The hotel manager threatened us that our SUV was going to be removed by a tow truck. The drinks were extremely light, seemed juice only without a drop of alcohol. The air condiotioning was out of order and I had to called a lot of times to get it repair. Two servicemen came, and at last, about 2:00 a.m., the second one got it barely working. They were out of remote controls for the TV set. It seemed they were extremely overbooked. I never will be back to this hotel.- 03-Apr-2008 |
