 The location is the main thing about this hotel, in montmartre. The hotel in itself is not fancy and that great but feels secure and good. - 08-Jun-2009 Hotel was clean, but room smelled of cigarettes. Staff friendly enough. Hotel is basic - no tea /coffee making facilities in room. No wall bracket for shower head or shower curtain. But if all your after is a base to sleep, that provides a reasonable breakfast. Hotel Des Arts is great. Our problem was getting there when the France.com Parishuttle service said they hadn't received our booking and were unwilling to help us out. Take the RER metro into Paris - cheaper AND easier.- 23-Oct-2006 The hotel is located in a very picturesque area, in the heart of Montmartre. The street is in fact one of the passages of Paris, leading up to the famous windmills, and the square of Montmartre where the artists are painting portraits. Of course this is also the location of the stunning Sacre Coeur. The area is lively, with a large number of fruit, and vegetable markeds, restaurants, cheese stores, butcher shops and pastry stores.
