 We picked the hotel via the interned based on price, location and reviews we'd seen on the website and are really glad we did.
The hotel looked just like the pictures, unlike others we looked at and passed on the street during this break.
All the staff were helpful, friendly and smiled everytime we saw them. Very attentive bar/waiting staff but not pushy. Very good continental breakfast, got to make our own tea and toast as well! They were expecting us on arrival and didn't even ask our name when we booked in, knew exactly when we were checking out and offered to keep our bags after 12 noon if we wanted them to.
Took 10-15 mins stroll from the station with our bags, just over 5 mins to Duomo, under 5 mins to Ponte Vecchio. The only disappointment was no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but that's and english thing anyway. Surved perfectly well without it and would definately stay there again without looking at any other accommodation.
Overall all an excellent place to stay- 14-Mar-2007 Both the location and the hotel were good. The hotel was elegant but not too grand. The room was ok but nothing special - didn't not match the overall image of the hotel. Still basically worth the money.- 23-Nov-2006 We stayed at the Hotel De La Ville for two nights and were evry impressed. Our room was a standard double and was very tastefully and expensively decorated with a huge bed. The buffet style breakfast was excellent and served untill 10:30 which is a welcome change from most hotels which finish much earlier. The staff all spoke English and were most welcoming and helpful. Finally the location is perfect as it is 10 mins walk from the train station and right in the centre of all the main points of interest. On the whole I would not hesitate to go back though next time I would probably spend a little extra and get a larger double room.- 24-Feb-2006 |
