The hotel fit its price. The service people were extremely friendly and helpful. There was 24 hour service at the front desk and the location was right near everything. I never showered in the shower area so I can't comment on that. - 15-Jan-2008 great location. In the heart of Chatalet/Les Halles with many options for eating out and shopping. Its a short walk to Ile de la cite / Le Louvre areas and within walking distance of Arc de Triomphe. The location of the hotel makes it very easy and quick to access from the airport (RER)The hotel's front door is not blatantly obvious for the first time, being beside a small Kebab take away which tends to overshadow its entrance. The hotel's street number will get you there or be very alert to the hotel sign higher up. The Hotel manager/owner is extremely helpful and happy to provide tourist advice about Paris (and France in general)
Showers and toilets are shared per floor but I didn't have any occasion when these facilities weren't available when required. (Showers cost E2.50) Not having these facilities in the room kept the room cost extremely reasonable especially for this fantastic location. Certainly a trade off I would make again. - 01-Feb-2007 Be prepared to enter into a truly one star "hotel". If they didn't come in to make our bed daily, i'd definitely define it as a pretty "run down hostel", but because of that one feature, it's a "hotel".
Although they clean and vacuum the hotel everyday, the carpets are still very old and stained. And because of that, our room smelled like oldness. The mattress is very lumpy for the 2 of us. Made our ribcages so sore. Time to change the carpet and beds there, it's TIME! Plus having a room on the busy side of the street is very noisy at night. The only one good thing I have to say is that the location is convenient....but that's about it. - 21-Oct-2006 |
