 Stayed for 5 days. Excellent quiet central location just minutes walk from Tiananmen Square and Forbidden City. Staff were very helpful. Breakfast and lunch were very good. Room was modern and clean with a/c, with great hard bed. Real comfortable. Taxis cheap and readily available at the hotel or just on street outside. Broadband internet access free in room, and 2 bottles of water! Money changer machine in lobby for euros and dollars, reasonable conversion rate. No fridge in room, and don't expect any hotel social scene!- 29-May-2008 The hotel is good, rooms are nice. Location is excellent. Only for a hotel that opened less than a year ago, getting run down very quickly ! Quite interesting fungus growths in the bathroom. Not as bad as some Chinese hotels but still. - 28-May-2008 The hotel is clean, the staff is friendly and mostly English speaking and the location is great!! Close to the sights and the subway. If you plan on heading to the Wall, we suggest going on your own-skip the tour. The hotel wanted to charge us 350RMB per person-way too much and the part of the wall you are taken to is full of tourists. For a less crowded trip we suggest the Muitanyu section of the wall. Easily gotten to on your own -it may take a little longer but not being fans of tours, we thought it was worth it. The woman in charge of booking tours at the hotel was NOT AT ALL helpful in giving us info so we could get there on our own but we figured it out.
Here's what we did: Take the subway to Dongzhimen. From there you can catch bus 916 just down the st. (only 12RMB/person)to Huairou. This as far as the bus will take you towards the wall. From here we took a taxi to the Wall. Be sure to negotiate a price before you get in. We paid 15RMB/person. - 05-May-2008 |
