 If you want an ideal location, a first class hotel and absolute relaxation then look no further than the Datai. It is not cheap but it is the best hotel and location we''ve ever stayed in Asia. One of the best parts is there are 2 pools, one adults only, one for under 16''s and an excellent private beach. Situated literally in the rain forest you will get monkeys and squirrels on your balcony but you will also see a wide variety of wildlife including hornbills and eagles up close.Restaurants are good and prices are reasonable when you consider the standard of the hotel. If you want you can stay in your villa and have all meals and drinks brought to you at no more than the restaurant prices. You can if you want keep yourself completely private or use the hotel facilities. If you want a your own private beach barbeque no problem, several families did this jointly. People of the hotel are very, very nice, helpful and they know their job.

Very attractive hotel and the staff could not be more polite or attentive.
Cost of the accomodation was good value however I thought the food a little overpiced and would have preferred a greater variety of menu.
