 Strong positives: A clever concept just providing simple facilities with clean unfussy lines (no unnecessary facilities that one doesn't need, or fussy interiors). Very good location in my favourite part of Madrid. Friendly staff. Availability of water and coffee in the communal area very considerate and a great feature. The discreetness of the hostal from the street also good (as if you are entering a private apartment building, not some anonymous hotel). Will definitely consider staying again next time in Madrid.
Minor gripes: wi-fi access not available from rooms (signal too weak for access via own laptops); springs on bed quite prominent and slightly uncomfortable; some elements need maintenance (eg - door handles loose, paint on walls scuffed).- 21-Oct-2008 Excellent central location; only 3 mins walk to SOL and 5 min walk to Prado museum. Lots of nightlife around there; and so the room can be quite noisy until early hours of morning - windows block out most noise but if noise worries you; bring earplugs. Great Hotel. - 30-Jun-2008 I cannot fault the hostal itself, or the friendliness of staff however, be warned that the street is extremely noisy at night especially at weekends. During my stay there, I found that I could not sleep at night owing to the singing and shouting carrying on until about 7am. I would certainly stay here again, but would ask for a back facing room- 23-May-2008 |
