With 30 motel rooms, 12 four-share backpacker rooms and 4 sixteen-share backpacker dormitories, Cavenagh Hotel Darwin has an accommodation to suit everyone's budget. Most of the rooms overlook the tropical pool and courtyard.
Restaurant
Enjoy some of the best food in town, in an alfresco setting, on the courtyard deck. The onsite restaurant serves breakfast and offers an extensive lunch and dinner menu as well as an all day dining cafe menu, including a full range of gourmet coffee. If the pool beckons during the day, the bar is a great place to relax after the sun goes down.
General
There's no doubt that you will spend a stack of time lounging in the stunning pool, located in the central courtyard. Grab a cold beer from the bar and soak up the sun, cook up a meal on the pool Bar-B-Q and then soak in the refreshing cool blue water. You can also discover the city of Darwin, which is the northern gateway to Australia and is an excellent base to explore the Northern Territory.
 Not suitable for young family as the Hotel is next to a pub/nightclub and loud music is played until 10pm on some nights.

The staff are very helpful.- 13-Sep-2007 The room at the Cavenagh was very clean and well fitted. However, it must have been an internal room, as it had no windows. There was a skylight high up, with a side window. That is, from the room you could see nothing of the outside world. I found it rather claustrophobic, and would like to have known about it before accepting it. Other than that, everything about the hotel was quite adequate.- 06-Sep-2007 The hotel doesn't have any lift. So, for the old people or people with walking difficulty is to hard to climb the stairs.
