 The Hotel is nice, location is too far from Fishermans Wharf and pier 39.Check your bill at the bar before you pay as the barman tried twice to overcharge.The walk to Union square will take about 10 minutes if you can get past all the homeless people sleeping on the sidewalk. - 16-Apr-2007 The hotel is in a good position, close to some really excellent restaurants only a short walk. Highly recommend the Holy Grail for a hearty Celtic meal and drink. Being on the corner of Van Ness and Post is also very good for access and use of public transport. Great views from the hotel towards downtown. - 05-May-2006 This hotel was great - the size of the rooms were huge. There were three of us and as the room was so big it was perfect for all three of us and all our luggage.
The hotel was about a 30min walk into town - down hill!! There is a bus stop outside which takes you straight into town and taxi's are frequent - 5/10min ride
