A very pleasant time was spent at the hotel - the weather was great for November so that added to the Autumn break. The pool was a bit disappointing in that it is rather deep for swimmers that are not too confident! The jacuzzi had a new layout and was not as warm as we were used too! - so as we chose the Hotel for its leisure facilities particularly in November we were slightly disappointed and only used it once. The situation of the Hotel is second to none. The location and the Innishowen Peninsula is worth exploring with terrific scenery. High recommended,- 15-Nov-2007 Some aspects of the hotel were very average, for example, only one bath towel provided for two guests, the shower door did not close properly, the tap in the bathroom was wobbly, a socket in the room was not correctly fitted to the wall. Also the hotel smoke/fire alarms went off repeatedly around midnight, waking us up. However, it is a lovely setting and the price was reasonable for the room/facilities available. - 23-Jul-2007 We stayed at the Redcaastle on 19.11.06. The Hotel is very nice and the stay were very helpful. We were placed in room 416 which is directly over the kitchens so the noise from the extractor fans was very loud, when we complained we were told that the fans would be switched off in the evening time (which did happen). We had a meal in the hotel which was fantastic and the sevice was excellent. We then went into the bar, the music was extremely loud. When we went to bed we realised that the bar was directly below usand we could hear everything - the bar then became the residents bar and at 4.30 am we could still hear the bar below!!!!!!!!.
We complained the next morning and received a voucher to the value of our room.
Breakfast is served until 12 noon but get there early - we slept in and by the time we got breakfast the staff didnt want to know and the fry was cold!
MORAL: Refuse to be put in either room 411 or 416 (the manager says 411 is a problem room also!!) - 23-Nov-2006 |
