Canillo

Canillo, Andorra is a small town in the parish of Canillo, between the Andorran capital of Andorra La Vella and the French border. Like much of Andorra, Canillo is known for its heritage, architecture, and favorable ski conditions. The well-preserved t Incles valley, an area perfectly preserved from the blemishes of mankind, forms the backdrop for Canillo’s medieval architecture and quaint cobbled streets. Its location in the northernmost section of Andorra makes it a superb location for a Pyrenean ski holiday.

Juclar Lake, close to Canillo is an excellent off-ski-season destination with flowing cascades and clear waters. The Church of Sant joan de Caselles in the village of Canillo is a heritage site that can not be missed. Its three-story bell tower is among the largest of any medieval church in Andorra. Visitors to Canillo can also take advantage of the local ski slopes from December to March, as well as efficient and inexpensive public transportation to surrounding ski resorts, shopping areas and attractions. Cheap accommodation in Canillo is also not hard to find, and include the Magic Canilo Hotel, Roc Del Castell, Bonavida, and Ski Plaza Hotel.
