General
The public areas of the hotel are well maintained and the guests are offered a very special, personalized service during their course of stay.
 The hotel is situated near all areas of interest. The rooms are very clean, breakfast was ample and good. During check-in, we were informed by hotel desk clerk that breakfast was included during our overnight stay and was also confirmed by the night clerk. Upon checking out, we were told that we had to pay for our breakfast. We then informed them that that was not what we were told by the hotel staff but since we were in a hurry, we just charged the amount on our credit card which we will then dispute when the charges comes through ( though some members of the group refused to pay).- 24-Jun-2008 We very much enjoyed our stay at the Caledonian Hotel Barcelona. It was an older hotel but was very clean inside. Breakfast (included)consisted of eggs, toast, bread/rolls, cereal, sausage, bacon, fruit, pastries, and a coffee machine which dispensed regular, decaf, expresso, and latte served in a very comfortable dining room. The hotel was resonably priced and was located one short block from University square and Las Ramblas. A corner market was located just around the corner (30 steps) from the hotel. The view from the room was good and overlooked a major road running through Barcelona. A bar was located on the first floor just past reception with comfortable leather couches and chairs. For early arrivals (before 2pm) a secure luggage storage area was available at no cost. Because of its location along a major thoroughfare, taxis were plentiful. From the airport, about 15 euros, and from the port about 6.I would definitely stay there again.- 06-Dec-2007 Great base to see the sights in the centre of Barcelona. Only 5 minutes walk from La Rambla. Building work still continuing next door but that didn't affect our stay. We did have a room at the front of the hotel though and the traffic noise was a little loud during the Monday morning rush hour.- 06-Apr-2007 |
