Guests on business can avail the on-site conference space that can accommodate up to 20 persons. At your free time, you can tour the regional attractions and landmarks.
 We had to arrive before check-in time, so we phoned ahead to ensure that the hotel would have somewhere to put our luggage. Upon arrival the receptionist did not greet us, and took some time to acknowlege our presence. We were then horrified to discover that the hotel's idea of storing luggage was to leave it in the public hallway of the hotel. The hotel rather forcefully indicated that they took no liability for luggage left. After expressing our displeasure a few times, the hotel did relent and allow us to leave our luggage in the room.
The room and bathroom were clean. Both were tired; the bathroom had seen better days - yellowed lighting and a cracked sink were two features. The double bed had been made up using two single duvets with mismatching washed out duvet covers. Positively there was little noise during the night, and wireless Internet was provided free of charge as long as you were close enough to reception.
Overall, we would not consider staying at this hotel again.- 30-Aug-2007 Nothing stands out as really good or really bad. I went on short notice and on the weekend, so the pricing wasn't an issue. The cleanliness of the rooms could be an issue for those used to better hotels, but if you're willing to accept that some of the rooms are a bit worn and dusty then it shouldn't be a major issue. I found the breakfast quite nice - at least you're given options for a hot meal. The hotel is about a 15 min walk from the city centre, but it's right next to Calton Hill (which gives a great view of the city and the Firth of Forth) and not too far from Holyrood and Arthur's Seat.- 01-Aug-2007 The hotel staff was so friendly and kind.
