The main bar lounge area was extremely dated and far too bright with little atmostphere. The bar had run out of most draught beer and shut early with customers still in there. Compared to the more modern dining room it was poor and did not encourage you to spend time there. At breakfast it was apparent with so many old folk staying there that tea and coffee should be brought to the table in pots as the current system created confusion and had to be got a cup at a time. This was also very wasteful as a new teabag was used each visit. The bedroom was also very dated and although clean there was a lingering smell and a damp patch on the wall which stayed during the stay. It is a shame that a hotel in such a good location with such potential to please did not.- 02-Oct-2009 |
