 Given the room rate, the overall experience was disappointing. i found the double door entry to the room very strange - like a prison!! Service in the dining room was average only & had to request tea as against coffee - 13-Jun-2007 Room was antiquated. Furniture had seen better days. Had to wait 45 minutes for water to heat up so that we could have showers. When we arrived at the room the tv remote was missing,then given portable tv, but the picture was fuzzy. There is also a charge to use the leisure centre - 24-Jan-2007 This is an old and long established hotel, and this is reflected in the interior design which takes the guest back to an era of past grandeur.
The staff were attentive and my room was maintained to a high standard.
