Bright

Bright, Australia is located in the heart of Australia’s alpine high country and the activities and surroundings change with each season. Bright was started by W H Pardoe in 1853 when he discovered gold along the Buckland River. In 1857 a large rich quartz reef was discovered and was mined for ore. After the decline in the gold rush, timber became the economic staple of Bright. Today the mainstay of life in Bright is the income from tourism; due to the scenic surroundings and the variety of activities it has to offer

In fall you can enjoy the spectacular changing colors of the trees. The Bright Autumn Festival celebrates the changing of the seasons with Gala Day, Saturday Market, and there is plenty of local cuisine and arts and crafts. During the winter months you can enjoy skiing and all other winter activities. No mater what time of year you decide to visit Bright there are tons of things to do including; golfing, fishing, bushwalking in the mountains or exploring the historical landmarks

The Art Gallery and Cultural Centre features artwork by up and coming artists and also has cultural displays. Mount Buffalo National Park is a must see during your stay; just a short drive to see amazing cliffs, waterfalls and nature at its best.
