Really loved this hotel. Beautiful place, great location in a very nice village. The staff were very friendly and kept the place spotless. The Persian cat was also very attentive. Our room was a few steps from the pool. Fresh coffee made for you at breakfast - lovely!- 17-Oct-2007 I stayed at the Borgo Antico for 9 nights in August 2007. The hotel is set back off of the main road in San Pantaleo. It is not a large hotel - about 30 rooms. It is an attractive looking hotel - very clean and well maintained. The rooms are an average size with the usual facilities. The inclusive breakfasts offer good choice if no variety day to day. There is a small, clean pool. Staff are friendly and helpful and front desk speak some English. The town itself is small and very attractive but there is little to do there - you will need a car. There are about 5 restaurants in the town - all good - of varying price. I would recommend this hotel and consider staying there again.- 30-Aug-2007 Very nice room with mountain view from balcony. Very friendly service from desk staff. Breakfast was served efficiently & had a reasonable choice though it got a bit boring by 5th day.
Hotel bus to beach worked very well though would recommend hiring car to get around the local resorts, especially Porto Cervo & Porto Rotondo. If driving along the North Coast it is worth stopping at Castelsardo & Isola Rossa.
Restaurants were good. 10% discount from hotel at Nicos worked well. Balcona restaurant was also quite good but I really enjoyed the local restaurant, Ichnos, at the end of the village. Great Pizzas for 5 Euro & an excellent steak for 9 Euro.
Bar on the square was delightful at night time but beware of the expensive draught beer, stick to the bottles. Also the Piazza bar around the corner was good. - 25-Jun-2007 |
