 I stayed in this hotel twice once in the standard (unrenovated room) and once in the delux. Standard room is not good value and a bit of a dive but the delux room was of a good standard. As withh the philipines the staff were freindly but the hotel is a bit tired.- 28-Nov-2007 Would I go back to Best Western Astor Manila and recommend it to others? I would.
Pricing: I'd say it was priced averagely but for me was still a bit high.
Location: The Best Western Astor is within the Business District of Makati, at the Buendia side, along Makati Avenue. Ideally, it is very easy to reach by car, but traffic is horrendous during rush hour. The signages and tall buildings before and after somewhat blocked the sign of the hotel. Saw it when I was just a few meters away. Still, if you don't mind walking, the traffic wouldn't be a problem. The hotel is also within walking distance of the 'Asian District' of Makati.
Service: Staff was very courteous, and requests I made were answered promptly.
Cleanliness: Well-kept and didn't smell bad. I'm not sure if there's a smoking area, if there was, I'm glad I didn't smell any lingering smell of smoke.
Room Amenities: Thank you for the bathtub, mirrors, tea-maker and hair dryer.- 15-Oct-2007 Although the room was clean enough, the hotel itself is "tired", difficult to get to and OVER PRICED. - Some of the desk staff seemed to be confused as to what they were doing while one young lady seemed to be right on top of the situation at all times.
