The family siute was a great base to set out from each day, we were looking for a hotel with the basic facilities and comfortable rooms; the Belleclaire offered this. No kettle in room but the hotel will provide one if you ask. It is well situated for what ever you intend to do, close to 72nd street subway station, 3 blocks from Central Park and 25 minutes walk from 5th avenue. The local restaurants are very good and the diner opposite is great. Broadway is a pretty busy street 24 hrs a day which mekes it quite noisy but that seems to be the case everywhere central. We would certainly use this hotel again. - 21-Dec-2007 A good mid-range choice for those who want to stay in New York without incurring the very high prices associated with some Manhatton hotels. The accommodation is comparatively basic, but has everything that you need. Initially I wasn't sure about sharing a bathroom, but it was not a problem at all - one bathroom for 3 rooms, so there was never any queue. The hotel was clean and well looked after, and the staff were always very helpful. The location is north west of mid-town, but with the subway just a short walk away travelling to all of the major sites never took too long. Although the hotel doesn't have a restaurant the diner across the road more than made up for it. I would recommend to those wanting to do NYC on a sensible budget. - 04-Dec-2007 the hotel was really nice, the room was great and some of the staff was helpful, but not all. also the hotel didn't have free internet which i thought was a bit strange. what really annoyed me though was that we lost an mp3player from the room and nobody really cared or took responsibility. that really left a bad taste in my mouth... i thought they could have been a lot more helpful...- 14-Nov-2007 |
