The hotel & staff are very professional and pleasant to deal with. The basic rooms are lovely, not huge but the decor is traditional yet modern. The window was just facing out to the courtyard but with the noise of Venice we found the room a lovely haven to come back to. We had a meal on the terrace on our first night and it was so lovely, very romantic. Breakfast is also very good for a european hotel, lots of choice and great setting to wake up and have breakfast to. The location of the hotel is brilliant, 2 mins from St Marks Square but in a quite square so it really was brilliant. The only fault is with the price of drinks at the bar €20 for a glass of prosecco and a bottle of heniken. Our only real gripe: the hotel has a jacuzzi on the rooftop overlooking the canal but you had to pay €70 to use it. For a 5* hotel it should be included in the price. But being ripped off is the same as everywhere in Venice - but it is still the most beautiful city I've been to. - 07-Aug-2008 The people were very helpful and exttemely polite.- 05-Sep-2007 We were extremely pleased with the Bauer Hotel Venice. The concierge was extremely helpful, the location was ideal and the breakfast restaurant was beautiful (sat right on the Grand Canal for breakfast). Only quirk is that getting to the hotel can be a bit of an ordeal, especially if you don't take a water taxi. The hotel could do more to facilitate getting from one's car to the hotel. - 30-Jul-2007 |
