 The hotel was in a good location for me with easy access to Colonial (Etihad) Stadium and Docklands, and the room was clean throughout my stay. However the springs on the bed were failing and creaked with even the slightest move. If this wasn't bad enough the room faced the new extension being built onto the hotel (literally just metres away) and the rooms were NOT soundproofed and the construction workers would start at 7am. The workers were very noisy and I don't just mean the construction they seemed to act like if they had to be up that early everyone should, by their yahooing behaviour that early in the morning.
I asked to be moved but was informed that that was not an option.
Everyday after housekeeping had been to my room my card key would cease to work; and instead of replacing the card they kept reprogramming it.
I would not recommend the Atlantis to anyone due to the poor service I received. This in definitely NOT a 4 star hotel.- 10-Jun-2009 Very noisy when we visited (April/May 2009) due to building works adjacent to hotel (it is being extended). Reception staff were very obliging in changing our room due to noise and no safety deposit box in room. Not much variety at breakfast but ok for a short visit. Easy walking distance from Southern Cross station - 29-May-2009 Five minute walk to Spencer Street Southern Cross railway station - where Airport Shuttle and Interstate Trains arrive/depart.
