 I was not impressed with the service at the Aphrodite Hotel in Rome, due to the following:
The bed had springs that protrubed into your back when resting, when I asked to be moved to another room, nothing was done, after a night sleep, I found I had pain in my back. I requested to see the Manager, who was rude, arrogant and not helpful, told me to turn the mattress over myself, he mentioned that all the mattress's throughout the hotel were the same. I was so upset, eventually my husband suggested that perhaps we could have extra blankets to put on the top of the mattress to try and cover the protrubing springs. I really would not recommend this hotel, there was basically no customer service, just rudeness.- 15-Nov-2007 The hotel is located very conveniently right next to the central railway station, called Roma Termini. Facilities I will rate average as the room (double for two persons) we stayed was tiny one; small TV with no international channels - remote controls are provided only on deposit of 10 Euro.
Some hotel staffs at the reception are not very polite and often gets irritated if you ask anything, even simple information.- 04-Oct-2007 Great location, more or less opposite the bus and train stations for those wanting easy transportion. Rome is not hot on transport and you need to get your bearings quickly and adapt to the metro and bus routes as soon as possible. It helps therefore to just be able to jump onto a metro or bus easily. The hotel is on the Via Marsala which is where the buses from Ciampino airport arrive and leave from. So, on arrival by this method in the city, you have a 2 minute walk to the hotel. The hotel is in a busy street and my very roomy single accommodation was at the front. Fortunately there was double-glazing but ear plugs help to keep the noise of the traffic down. Wouldn't like to be there in the middle of summer when the heat must be stifling and you would not be able to keep a window open at night for the noise. - 12-Mar-2007 |
