 I stayed at Amari in Oct 2007.While it is a 4* hotel it seemed more like 5* from my experience.I stayed afterwards at the 5* Marriot in Bangkok which was comparatively poor.At Amari I was upgraded to a Deluxe room which made it even better.The receptionist led me to the room explaining everything about the hotel very clearly. The sea view was spectacular and the room was excellent - big, clean and nicely decorated.The breakfast buffet was great too, as were the swimming pools.The hotel is located within 10 minute walk from Patong, so very convenient.In fact the whole experience was very good apart from one thing.The hotel is keen to push their own packages onto guests and whenever I asked for information on taxi to airport, ferry trip to Phi Phi etc they would pretend they don't know what the cost is or where to go and would push their own overpriced deal on me.In that way they were very unhelpful.Eg their taxi to airport costs 800bht whereas a normal one costs about 400bht.Be warned.- 11-Oct-2007 |
