 Stayed in Hotel Airport Grand Johannesburg for 3 days. Rooms overall are good with pleasant decor, furniture, lighting etc. Bathroom is so so. TV has got access to limited channels. Other than CNN only local channels are offered. There is not enough variety in breakfast - mostly similar items everyday.
Desk staff is not very efficient/courteous and does not display warmth while handling the customers.
I could not get an adaptor from the hotel all 3 days for my 3-pin (round) plug, and could not use my mobile and laptop. Hotel is not Wi-Fi enabled and access to internet is provided only for one hour free of cost per night which in today's times is not enough.
On the whole not a very pleasant experience for R956 per night.
noise from the planes while passing over the hotel during the landing is irritating. Almost every 5 minutes there is one landing during peak hours.
It is only 5 km from the OR Tombo airport and there is free shuttle from the hotel every half an hour.- 11-Apr-2008 The hotel is near airport but quite far to go to some places of interest. The receptionist is not friendly and show an angry face when we ask for the change of room.- 27-Aug-2007 Nice Hotel for overnight stopover. Remember to take the telephone number of the hotel if you want to make use of the Hotel shuttle bus from the Airport, as I waited 90 minutes the first time I stayed there- 07-Aug-2007 |
