The hotel was very well placed, across from a main subway station, for getting uptown, downtown, or indeed anywhere in New York. The staff was helpful, courteous, and respectful, from the front desk to the evening security staff.
Apart from the church bells at 7.00am every morning, the hotel was quiet with very little traffic noise reaching the 9th floor, where we were. The furniture in our room was perhaps a little past its sell-by, but that is the only criticism I can come up with.- 13-May-2008 My daughter and I were exceptionally pleased with our room, and everything else....great location so close to Penn Station and numerous subway stations...along with the gigantic Macy's stiore. But a good walk home in the evening from MoMA, and an easy, if healthy, strole to Times Square and Rockefeller Center.
Only comment is the poor engagement by a staff member at the concierge's station. Stood for several minutes across from her at the desk, the only customer standing there, and finally had to interrupt her before she'd stop doing her computer work. Just not the normal attitude by any of your other staff or by staff at any other of the probably 3 dozen hotels I stay at for my job each year.
She did not glance up and smile and say she'd be with me in a moment, etc. In other interactions with this same young woman she was brusque and just not interested in helping us.- 02-Oct-2007 The room was noisy...not from the street but from some appliance (bathroom fan? fridge?) from the room below...other than that the folk were pleasant and it was a large, clean, nice room- 01-Oct-2007 |
