Unfortunately, first impressons of the Adante were not good. The lobby appeared shabby, carpets looked grubby, then when we entered our room, the odour of stale air and cigarette smoke was almost overwhelming. We had to immediately open the window and leave the door open to try and freshen the air. Every day we would leave the window open, only to find it closed on our return. It seems that keeping the rooms fresh and aired is not considered important. As for the decor!! Amateur attempt at a Tuscan look (I think) complemented by clouds and seagullls! Uninspiring drapes and bed covers. This could be quite a cute hotel if the decor was upgraded and given a fresh look. Carpets need cleaning or replacing. And we were not impressed with the plastic and paper utensils in the cafe for breakfast. What an insult to paying guests! It's not a scout camp after all. On the plus side, the staff on the desk were always pleasant and helpful, which went some way towards improving our experience.- 12-Oct-2008 Great hotel for the traveller, excellent location, great service.- 06-Oct-2008 A character hotel. Close to cafe and shop. Easy to get to cable car.
Small room but very clean. Good free breakfast. Helpful counter staff.- 01-Dec-2007 |
