we stayed two nights - the room was lovely with an incredible view of the Empire State. The room was spotless and the beds wonderfully comfortable. The location is perfect for everything either in midtown or downtown with great restaurants, delis and coffee shops on yr doorstep.Staff were very friendly and most helpful.
Id have loved tea/coffee facilities in the room as we arrived late on a Sunday and the restaurant and bar were closed but there was complimentary tea/cofee in the bar till 9am.Would have been nice to have that bar area open during the day for drinks as you do a lot of walking and the hotel was a perfect haven away from the busy streets.Breakfast is available and of a very high standard but not included in price of room which I had assumed - an expensive mistake.Overall, it was a delight to stay here.- 22-Mar-2008 Our room in this small boutique style hotel was compact but very well designed and had good in-room entertainment, including huge flat-screen TV and iPod dock.
The Hotel location was really excellent - just a couple of blocks south of grand central station; so perfect for walking and shopping and just a short cab ride to Soho & little Italy.
On the down side our room had very little natural light and was tucked away at the back of the hotel with no view and constant noise from aircon outside. Niggles aside, I would definitely stay here again.- 29-Nov-2007 For a "King Deluxe" room space around the bed was rather limited and the bathroom was a little cramped. It was a very comfortable room in all other respects and we appreciated touches such as the l'Occitan toiletries in the bathroom and the monster-screen TV! We usually like to leave a window open at night, to admit some real air, but the traffic noise made that impossible; however, in The City that Never Sleeps no-one should be surprised by that, and the air-conditioner (with the fan on "low") made sleeping comfortable and restful.
N.B. one useful tip - the hotel breakfast is unjustifiably expensive; instead, turn left out of the hotel and walk down the hill 3 or 4 blocks to the Pershing Square restaurant opposite Grand Central - I defy anyone to find a better breakfast at a more reasonable price, with better variety.- 16-Sep-2007 |
